These are mostly refugees who have fled from their home countries and are living in other countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi. Australians have really made it possible for us to empower our own so that they can uplift their livelihoods through various programs as will be highlighted in subsequent pages. Some of these programs equip people through trainings that gear them towards financial sustainability, and these people later on contribute towards supporting other vulnerable people in the same position as they were previously. We put emphasis on education as well as women and youth entrepreneurship considering that these are the backbone of any community/nation. We have also ventured into the farming industry based on the fact that nearly 80% of Africans are either farmers or pastoralists. Similarly, we cannot ignore a major theory that the countryside sustains the urban area.

I wish to acknowledge all the volunteers that work for GAP. I hold in high esteem all your selfless efforts that have seen you work day and night without any pay. Any time the beneficiaries call for help you respond effectively without complain. I deeply treasure every one of you.

I also recognize and appreciate the Australian government for opening doors to resettle refugees and giving them a fair chance to live and work peacefully. The Australian people have also received the refugees with warm hearts giving them the long yearned love and comfort they need.
